Custom made Designs
Designs evolve.
We enjoy the process of designing and creating a unique piece of jewellery for you or someone you love.
Commissions are a special way to interact with an artisan to produce a custom made, individually handcrafted item and we aim to create a piece that has real artistic value and unique style.
We are happy to design a piece with your ideas but we will not copy an item made by another artist. We respect the integrity of other designers and will only work with a design we can relate to and that suits our style of work.
Design inspiration may start with a hint of an idea and from there the process
takes on its own momentum.
Generally the commission and design process can take a few weeks and involves custom consultation in person, by phone or email.
Spending this time is important to guarantee the customer’s satisfaction, to clarify details and allow for the design to evolve and reflect your requirements and our artistic input.
We found that it can be an enjoyable process for all parties and have met many lovely people in this way.
After the final design is completed, it will have to be confirmed and signed off by you, which means the Go ahead for us and decisions on material, size and dimensions etc. are final and cannot be changed after that date.
Gemstones
We have a large range of beautiful and special gemstones for you to select from and will do our best to find the most suitable stone for your design.
Ring size
It is important to choose the correct ring size.
Many rings cannot be changed in size, especially stone set items. For this reason we ask you to carefully select the finger size to be suitable for all temperatures. Usually in summer fingers are larger and smaller in the winter.
Wide bands generally require one size larger than selected.
How long
An order will take approximately4-6 weeks from confirmation of all design details and payment of deposit. Let us know if there is a special date you have in mind and we will try to do our best.
Deposit
We require an initial deposit of 50% of quote towards the materials. Transfer of deposit can be made directly into our account or you can pay by credit card or Paypal.
The outstanding balance is to be paid off in increments before the order is collected or delivered, a maximum of 2 month lay by applies.
The deposit is non-refundable on cancellation of an order or lay by.Should there be any changes to the design afterwards a reworking fee of 35% is required, generally that does very rarely apply.
Shipping
We are happy to ship anywhere in the world and each piece will be packaged in a beautiful Turamali box as shown above, with care instructions and details of the work for insurance, if required. We will advise you on the cost.
